Philippine Actors That Have Undergone Surgery

Cosmetic surgery in the Philippines reached its current status in terms of social acceptance mainly because of how Philippine entertainment celebrities have promoted the industry as part of their endorsement tasks. Endorsements probably came after going through some enhancement procedures themselves, or it could be part of the “package”. This applies mostly to Philippine actresses who openly endorse the cosmetic surgeon or clinic where they had their enhancement procedures. And the cosmetic surgeons and surgery clinics enjoyed unparalleled media and advertising mileage from the actresses.

In case of the Philippine actors, the most that they would do to endorse is just to mention the cosmetic surgeon and surgery clinic under the “guise” of them (the surgeon and the clinic) taking care of their looks and appearance.

Some of the actors that have undergone enhancement surgeries are:

Christian Bautista. The famous balladeer/actor who have a big Indonesian following is said to have undergone rhinoplasty or a nose job – a cosmetic surgery procedure that helps improve the function and appearance of a person’s nose.

Christopher de Leon. The Philippine’s all time dramatic actor have undergone Ultherapy – the latest innovation in non-surgical procedure which tightens and lifts the face, neck and eyebrows. The procedure makes use of high-frequency sound waves to work on the skin’s surface, stimulating the growth of new collagen. He also had eyebag removal and butt augmentation.

Coco Martin. The young actor openly admits to having undergone Power Peel skin treatment program to remove the facial scars caused by previous accident.

Derek Ramsay. The athletic built of this actor is owed to workouts and a bio-sculpt program to stay in shape. Some refer to the procedure as body liposculpture.

Piolo Pascual. The controversial and popular actor had rhinoplasty / alar plasty. Alar plasty is a procedure wherein the base of the nose is altered or reduced to reveal narrower nostrils.

Luis Manzano. The bubbly actor had rhinoplasty / alar plasty to enhance the appearance of his nose.

Apart from the obvious cosmetic surgery done to these actors, continuous skin care from their sponsor cosmetic surgeon or sponsor cosmetic clinic have been part of their regimen to look at their best as their job would demand from them.

Cosmetic Surgery Fail

The pressure in today’s society to have the perfect look has caused a lot of people to resort to cosmetic surgery to fix whatever imperfection they deem to have. And because there’s not enough information and background on the pros and cons of specific cosmetic surgery procedures, a lot of times, the whole purpose of the surgery is not achieved and the results were not as what were expected or hoped to be. If done by non-certified cosmetic surgeons, most of the time, horrifying side effects or complications ensue that make the person suffer from ugly scarring, awkward deformities, complex infections or having to undergo multiple revision surgeries that could cause even greater damage. Some of the common and worst cosmetic surgery fail include:

  • Bad Botox. This procedure is supposed to make one look younger. However, a bad batch of botox coupled with other facial surgeries (rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, cheek implants, etc.) could distort the face and lose the youthful appearance. Botox can result to a weary smile, too large cheek implants that could also make smiling pretty difficult.

  • Botched Boob Job. A lot of women aim for the perfect bustline and breast augmentation is easily decided on when a woman wants to pump up the boobs a bit more than they normally are. However, breast implants which are not done properly could result to non-symmetrical alignment of the breasts (one is higher than the other, and so on). Instead of enhancing the body’s shape, botched boob job earns no compliment from the onlookers.

  • Failed eye lift, cheek implants and botox can convert a beautiful face into a shameful-looking one. A woman loses natural beauty when all these procedures are not done properly and professionally.

  • A boob for a 20 year old done on a sagging body. This could make cosmetic surgery a complete turn off. Imagine an aged woman with boobs that are plump, round and firm against sagging body parts. It’s an awful sight.

  • Extreme rhinoplasty and facial implants can make a person look like a real victim of extreme plastic surgery gone wrong. It looks like the nose is about to fall off.

  • Lip injections and botox can result to ridiculously large lips, wrinkle free face but wrinkle-filled neck. It’s like the body clock is not synchronized – one part aging slow and the other aging fast.

  • Too High an Eyebrow lift. Women are not the only ones who get unlucky with their cosmetic surgery procedures. Men, get their share, too. Men often have eyebrow lift but when it gets too high, the person will look surprised all the time.

  • Too much lip injections or lip implants can cause a person to look weird. Eye lift can tighten the eyes making them look like a cartoon character’s eyes. Messing with plastic surgery can sometimes really be regretful.

  • A male having a nose job and other facial surgery procedures to look younger but ended up looking oddly feminine because of a botched rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery and facial implants.
